He has served in virtually all positions important to the continued operation of the Club. Philip was chosen by the Skylinks Men’s Club to serve on the Long Beach Municipal Golf Commission in 2010 during a period of transition for the Commission, and while never formally appointed by the Mayor, he attended every meeting for two years. When the Parks, Recreation and Marine Golf Advisory Committee was created by the City Council in 2013, Philip was appointed to the group and unanimously chosen as the first Chairman of the Committee. Philip has volunteered over 200 full days of service for every one of the 13 Long Beach Golf Festival events except the Men’s Senior Championship, in which he competes.
